Annie Pool – 2015 Unlimited Woman of New Beginnings

Annie Pool

Annie PoolWhere is your happy place? Puma Marco, an ancient ruin high up in the mountains of Peru. I am there every morning and every night in my meditations.

If you could be remembered for one thing, what would it be? That I fearlessly lived the life of my dreams.

Who or what is your greatest love? Travel.

What book do you recommend most to others? “The Hero With A Thousand Faces” by Joseph Campbell

What is your favourite quote and who said it? “The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.” ― Joseph Campbell

What has been your hardest lesson to learn? That I love myself enough to give myself the permission to be who I really am, to do what I truly want to do and to go anywhere I truly desire to go.

Your thoughts on community and connection? That we are all One. We keeping forgetting that. We truly connect when we know this simple truth.

Who has had the biggest impact on your life, and why? Elizabeth Gilbert. Her story gave women the permission to go and follow their dreams on a wild, wonderful adventure around the world.

If you could share a meal with anyone (alive or passed), who would it be? Princess Diana. We’d have a lot of fun shopping after dinner.

What is your latest discovery? That I am the happiest when I am in a place where I can watch the sun rise in the morning sky and the moon appear in the evening.

How do you celebrate your birthday? With epic, top of the world experiences. In 2014, I threw myself an “I Turned 50 and Kicked Cancer’s Ass” party and invited 150 people. The next year, I celebrated with my Soul Sister in Santa Barbara. This year, I shared the day with an amazing man on a gloriously peaceful island off the coast of Thailand.

How do you relax? Meditation. And dancing.

Do you follow your heart or your head? I always follow my heart. It’s 5000 times stronger than the brain.

Carnivore, vegan, vegetarian, other? I like them all. I don’t like fitting into one category.

What song do you play over and over again? Zucchero, Chocabeck

Best hike or outdoor spot on the island?  Willows Beach.
Do you have a mentor? What is the most important thing they have taught you?  Daniel Gutierrez. He taught me how easy it is to shift your reality. In one split second, you can change EVERYTHING.

Restaurant or cook at home?  I eat out alot when I travel. Then when I get home, I’m so sick of restaurant meals, I eat at home alot. It’s feast or famine.

Favourite recipe I always hanker after my homemade beef barley soup. It’s my Mother’s recipe. She taught me to make it with a little here and a little there. The old fashioned way. So, sorry, I can’t share it.

Something we didn’t ask that you want to share!  I’ll be launching my book, “Passport to Life” on June 11! It will be an in person and a live streaming event with Special Guest Speaker, Daniel Gutierrez. I will be sharing how I achieved the impossible and overcame incurable cancer through the power of travel.
